GDJ Composer Competition
Green Dot Journey Composer Competition
Every four years the Green Dot Journey Composer Competition takes place for all composers, 18 years or older. The compositions submitted and written for violin and piano are the composer’s musical description of the National Parks that are being featured for that particular year of the competition.
Between competitions the winners pieces are formally premiered and then programmed in house, art gallery, and National Park concerts across the United States. Their compositions are also included in a CD recording and are used for the soundtrack to a video that is filmed in the specific National Park that their piece represents.
