I enjoyed another wonderfully productive day although I cut my practice short, didn’t cover as many green dots as planned, only got in a 40 minute walk and got home at 7:30 and still have a ton of research stuff to do.
We always have our up and down days no matter what we spend our time doing. It’s interesting to see how it manifests itself when driving. On my happy, contented, go for the gold days I have no problem with everyone driving 5-10 under the speed limit on roads that are 50 mph. and even enjoy the slower speed because I see more of the scenery. On not-so-uppity days I have to make sure I have plenty of food to munch on because when I’m hungry or need to go to the bathroom, or just plain short of patience I often imagine myself climbing up the trunk of the car in front of me and driving very gracefully up and over the top of the car, down the hood on the other side and safely to the pavement to continue on my way. Ironically, when I’m feeling on top of the world I find that the road in front of me is free and clear of traffic but when I’m out of it I always seem to get stuck behind someone going 25 for an hour at a time. I am starting to pass more often although it’s still a little nerve wracking, not knowing the roads and with how much they curve all over the place and all.
Today, I was more impatient than I would like to admit and cut my drive short cause I didn’t feel like being stuck out in the middle of nowhere after dark. I would much prefer to drive in the morning, but coming home after a great morning drive and then not feeling like practicing, is not an option. I tried that tactic for three weeks and it didn’t work. Now I’m practicing in the morning and it’s great but I am getting stuck driving home after dark more often than not. I wouldn’t mind it so much except that the rings on the lights that I have had since the lasic surgery are pretty bad and headlights are incredibly bright. Also, my car headlights are practically useless since they are so dim and I can’t see a thing. I’m guessing where the road is half the time, especially at intersections…not fun. I’m dreaming more and more of driving a nice, new, sleek, sexy, and safe car…
