Jen Huntleysmith is a wonderful friend from Reno. Originally, I met her when she brought her daughter Sophie to me for lessons. She then began taking lessons herself. After spending several lessons chatting we decided to hang out outside of lessons and the rest is history!
Coming up with crazy ideas that involve entrepreneurial thinking, exploring different approaches and a lot of hard work I wanted to surround myself with people that are inspiring and encouraging. Jen and her fiance Jim mean so much to me. They, from the very beginning of my Green Dot preparation have been full of wonderful ideas, supporting me all the way, and even hosting my first “public” house concert (The first one that I did outside of my own home) in Reno!
I was invited to play for Jen and her wonderful family in their gorgeous 1829 home in Suffield, CT. I performed the French Program, with pieces by Franck, Debussy, Saint Saens, and Faure, accompanied by a multi-media backdrop featuring Impressionists artists. I also, at Jen’s request, played Witch Creek Rhapsody by James Bishop, one of the winners of the Green Dot Journey Composer Competition. It was a joy to meet everyone, and listen to stories that have been passed down for generations.
