It’s been a challenge juggling so many different things since September rolled around. With a full teaching studio and playing all of the Reno Chamber Orchestra, Reno Philharmonic, Opera, and Ballet gigs it’s been tricky finding time for personal practice and Green Dot mapping as well as house concerts and all of the details involved with selling Dad’s house in FL. When those first couple of playing gigs hit back in September I felt like all the balls I’ve been balancing reasonably well over the last couple years all fell crashing to the floor. The feeling was similar to the first couple weeks of every college semester where I always felt totally overwhelmed until things started to settle in.
My anecdote to this feeling of being completely overwhelmed has been to prioritize walks every day where I spend time being thankful for all of the wonderful things, circumstances, and relationships I have in my life. It has helped me to breathe more deeply and I always feel a sense of symmetry and organization in nature that I strive for in my own personal life (some days I reach it more than others).
Things are starting to settle in. The FL house is sold, I’m fitting in more Green Dot research time, and feel more grounded generally. I’m getting all of those balls back up in the air.
