I’ve had this poem near by for over ten years. It’s very dear to my heart and has pushed me beyond my limits more than once.
You Decide
You are the person who has to decide whether you’ll do it or toss it aside.
You are the person who makes up your mind whether you’ll lead or linger behind.
Take or leave it there’s something to do. Just think it over it’s all up to you.
What do you wish to be known as a shirk or be known as someone who’s willing to work?
Eager or earnest or dull through the day, doing or doubting it’s you who must say.
You must decide in the face of the test, whether you’ll shirk or give it your best.
You are the person who used to boast that you’d achieve your uttermost…someday.
Will you do it? Will you try for the goal that’s afar? Or will you be content just to stay where you are?
